40 in Florida

So I hadn't exactly been looking forward to my big milestone birthday of 40. But.... When you get to go on a surprise destination for the occasion it certainly helps!! 

Mark planned a trip to Fort Lauderdale for 3 days. Such a perfect place for a getaway, direct flight, hotel across the street from the beach, and walking distance from tons of shops and restaurants. 

The beach is beautiful and goes forever...

The picture above was taken at a Mexican restaurant called Drunken Taco. Great food, and drinks that live up to their name. We decided to check out their well advertised margaritas.

We were also in walking distance from a harbor that had boat tours of the New River, an amazing Venetian -like river that winds through very wealthy neighborhoods. It is named Millonaires Row, though multi million is more like it.

And then there were the yahts! Though this is not it, one of them cost $50 million, crazy huh??
